Foil With Me Again!

Come Craft With Me!

Transfer Gel Duo and some paper printed with Toner ink and ran through my Minc

I bought some transfer gel due from amazon and tried it out.  This Duo gel will work with the Minc (hot foil) as well as through your manual die cutting machine.  I will try both and show you the results.

Items used:

Minc Foil
Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO
Cardstock
Stencil
Minc
Manual Die cutting machine

First I tried foiling with my Minc.

Look at the great results!

I used this stencil from Park Lane.

This is what my stencil looked like after applying the transfer gel duo.

I lifted the stencil off and let it dry completely clear.

After it dried I applied the foil and ran it through my Minc.

Below are a few other stencils I used.  I am not sure where I got them but some of them came from The Dollar Tree.

Next, I will use my Sizzix Sidekick to get the duo gel to transfer.

It works, no heat needed!  The foil isn't as smooth but if you wanted to use your manual die cutter you could.  Its best to use cutting plates that are not scored up because you will be able to see the scoring in your foil.

Simply run the foil covered due gel transfer through your machine and peel the excess foil off.

Paper printed with toner ink

I have been trying some of my black papers to see if they were printed with toner ink and will take foils with my Minc.

I got this perfect paper in my mystery box from the Paper Collage and it turned out perfect for my VW Beetle scrapbook.

This paper was black and white.  I covered it with teal foil and ran it through my mink.  Now it matches my VW Beetle book perfectly.  I cannot wait to use it.

I tried another sheet that was printed with toner ink but it had really fine detail and most of it was covered up.  It still turned out super fun.  I might use it as a die cut for VW beetles or something.

I will keep posting as I find new techniques.

Leave a comment if you want to see new ways to foil or know any that I have not posted.

Come and make your own sublimation spray with me!

Come make some sublimation spray with me! You are asking yourself what is sublimation spray and what is it used for? Well, as you may or may not know, you have to sublimate on polyester.  The higher the % of polyester the higher chance your image will stay on the item you are subbing on. Well, I found a way to make some spray that you can spray on cotton or any other fabric and it will sublimate.   For instance, I tried sublimating on this random patch I have.  I don't know what it is made of so i wanted to see if it would work.  It didn't.   Random Patch with no sub spray: Then I made the sublimation spray. Items you need: Polycrylic protective finish, I used clear satin but you can use clear matte as well. Spray Bottle Water Then your usual sublimation products: Sub paper Sub printer Heat press Fabric to sublimate on To make the spray, use 8 ounces of water and 2 tablespoons of Polycrylic.  Mix them together into a jar (I used a maso...

Foil With Me!

Come Craft With Me! I'm not sure why, but I LOVE foil and foiling.  I don't actually foil all that often but I love how it looks.  My husband bought me the Minc Foil machine for Valentines Day and I'm excited to play with it. I will go through each Foil tool below: (This is going to be a long blog post) Fun Foils by  Queen and Co. Nail Foil by Amazon Heatwave Pen by We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill for a cutting machine such as (Silhouette Cameo, Cricut) by We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill Freestyle which is a handheld foil writer by We R Memory Keepers Minc Foil Machine by Heidi Swapp Queen and Co. Fun Foils This foil sticks to sticky surfaces.  If you are not familiar with Queen & Co. they make super cute shaker card stuff.  The foil they came out with will stick to their shakers or really any sticky surface like tape or glue. you simply press the foil to the sticky surface and it is foiled.  Super simple, super easy.  Sometimes you do not get a good...
