About Me!

Hello and welcome to about me.

I grew up in a remote area of Phoenix, AZ.  My father was a cotton ginner and I lived out in the middle of nowhere until I was married.  I hated it so much as a kid, but I would love to live in the "country" again.   My mother was a nurse and fellow crafter which I think bred my desire to craft.  I have a brother and 2 sisters who I love very much.  We had a farm with lots of land and I feel like I had a wonderful childhood and learned such great values.

I married the love of my life when I turned 18 and am very fortunate to still be happily married.  Our daughter was born a couple years later and is a graduate of ASU!  Whoo whoo!  My husband and I enjoy our 2 classic Beetles and our bus and we adore pets!  We have chihuahuas and an 13 year old kitty.  I'm sure they will make appearances on my blog from time to time.

I have been crafting all my life and I like to say I started scrapbooking before it was even a thing.  I would put water on pictures and scratch nicknames into them, then paste them in my huge purple, flower, and fabric covered album along with pamphlets and stickers.  I started what I call real scrapbooking because I attended one of my best friends Creative Memories parties and got hooked a good 20+ years ago.  My goal was to create scrapbooks of my daughters school days so that when she graduated high school I could show them off at her party, and I did!  I was so proud of that moment.  I own a Silhouette Cameo and a cricut, and I often buy products of all sorts.  I am hoping to post every time I try a new or a tried and true item so that you have an honest opinion of a seasoned crafter.  I am also hoping this blog helps me start using up the items I haven’t tried yet.

Please leave comments and let me know if there are any products you would like to see.

Happy Crafting and COME CRAFT WITH ME!

Come and make your own sublimation spray with me!

Come make some sublimation spray with me! You are asking yourself what is sublimation spray and what is it used for? Well, as you may or may not know, you have to sublimate on polyester.  The higher the % of polyester the higher chance your image will stay on the item you are subbing on. Well, I found a way to make some spray that you can spray on cotton or any other fabric and it will sublimate.   For instance, I tried sublimating on this random patch I have.  I don't know what it is made of so i wanted to see if it would work.  It didn't.   Random Patch with no sub spray: Then I made the sublimation spray. Items you need: Polycrylic protective finish, I used clear satin but you can use clear matte as well. Spray Bottle Water Then your usual sublimation products: Sub paper Sub printer Heat press Fabric to sublimate on To make the spray, use 8 ounces of water and 2 tablespoons of Polycrylic.  Mix them together into a jar (I used a maso...

Stamping Foam!  Craft With Me! You can heat this puppy up and press anything into it to make a stamp.   This is the first time I have used this item and it was super simple to use.  I got the hang of it really fast and I will be using it a ton.  I was really impressed that I got such good impressions the very first time I used it.  You could also use this with an acrylic block I just didn't see a need. Come and use the Betterpress by Spellbinder's with me!

Come and use the Betterpress by Spellbinders with me! A few months ago I went to a 2 day event that was sponsored by Spellbinders and it was so much fun.  We got a ton of spellbinders dies and toured the offices and warehouse.  We did a couple make and takes at the office and one was with the Betterpress system.  I fell in love with the crispness of the press and how beautiful the cards turned out.  Its rally hard to see unless its in person but the image is pressed into the cotton paper making it look like a professional print. The better press works with a lot of different machines including the BigShot, Vagabond, Sizzix Switch, and Spellbinders Platinum.  It really just needs to fit the Betterpress through without an issue.  I would imagine if you can fit an old steel rule die, you can fit the Betterpress inside the machine. I am involved in a monthly card swap and decided to use my Betterpress for them. You first put your metal press plate on the...
